As a prelude, we are delighted to raise the velvet curtain once more for Anushka the Russian Princess who will both lull and rouse us with intimate tales of love and woe, baring her Slavic soul, as she has done, on numerous occasions, with Mikelangelo and the Black Sea Gentlemen.

13th November
Attack of the B Grade Movie!

It’s midnight and screenwriter Donald Mayer has just eight hours to churn out his latest B grade movie script. Tired and burned out from the sausage factory nature of the Hollywood studio system, Donald is completely out of ideas. The film is scheduled to go into production in the morning and desperation is setting in. So Donald turns to the theatre audience for inspiration. Their suggestions form the genre, story and characters of Donald’s script. While Donald taps away at his typewriter, the players become his imagination; improvising the B grade movie inspired by the suggestions of the audience. Join the fun at this improvised comedy night for only $10 – Shows starts 8pm. For enquirers please email:  bgradeattack@gmail.com

17th November
Crash Test Drama

The very successful Crash Test Drama is run on the third Monday of each month at Dante’s in Fitzroy, Melbourne.  Crash Test helps to promote script development for new and established writers.  It is important that playwrights can hear their works read by good actors so that the works can be improved.  To encourage talented local actors to come along (so that writers get the benefit of hearing quality reads of their scripts), there is prize money.  Yes real cold, hard cash! Every month there are two sections.
1. Five ten-minute plays are read, script-in-hand
2. An open section where individuals or groups can present a five-minute piece of their own devising. For a mere $10 you can come along and enjoy the fun. Comedy, tragedy, romance, intrigue…
you never know what you will see. 7:30pm sharp! For further information, or if you wish to submit a script to be considered for Crash Testing, send via e-mail:crashtest@bearingyourarts.com
